FAIRFIELD — The Armijo High girls water polo team won its first game as it beat Napa 5-4 in Monticello Empire League play, Wednesday.
Hannah Lawson led the Indians with two goals, while Andrea David and Chelsea Hodges scored one each. With three seconds left in the game, Tori Rogers scored the game-winning goal from midline.
The JV team, ended in a 2-2 tie as Tyler Bertani scored the two goals for the Indians.
Armijo travels to Rodriguez to play in its next match, Monday.
Armijo boys 11, Napa 10: At Fairfield, Conrad Miholich led the Indians with five goals in their first MEL win.
Chris Parodi followed with two goals, while Cody Gonzalez, Ryan Kardos, Jose Gaglianone and Josh Wilson all scored one goal. Parodi also led on defense with his four steals, while goalie, Trent Baker had nine saves.
The JV team won its game 7-4 as Alec Barrett led with five goals, while Aaron Wood and Charles Tralka scored one.
Rodriguez boys 6, Vintage 5: At Vallejo, five different players score for the Mustangs in their MEL win over the Crushers.
Walter Bennett led Rodriguez (6-2 MEL) with two goals, while Aaron Sepulveda, Jacob Dean, Josh Lopez and Corin Troupe scored the other goals. Julian Merritt had 12 saves in goal.
The JV team lost 7-3 as Ricky Adams scored two goals for the Mustangs and Tanner Oldham scored one.
Rodriguez plays its last regular season game, Monday, hosting Armijo.
