NAPA— The Armijo High boys tennis team kept its Monticello Empire League win streak alive, defeating Napa 5-4, Wednesday.
The win improves the streak to straight 92 matches.
Armijo swept in doubles play, which made the difference.
The most dominant wins for the Indians came in the doubles from Brad Davis and Sean Dolan, and Jose Gagalione and Crispin Marquez both teams winning 6-2, 6-3.
Pioneer 5, Vanden 4: At Fairfield, the Vikings dropped their second straight match.
In singles action, Vanden’s Devin Cabillo beat Joseph Clark, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5. Jose Arvisu also earned a win for Vanden defeating Cole Arthur, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Lawrence Antonio defeated Eric Leafgren, 4-6, 6-4, 10-7, to help the Vikings to a split in singles action.
Vanden looks to bounce back today, as it travels to Fairfield to take on the Falcons at 3:30 p.m.
American Canyon 9, Fairfield 0: At Fairfield, it was a rough day for the Falcons as they were swept on Tuesday.
David Lura and Earl Banaag put up a fight for the Falcons, falling 7-5, 7-5 in their respective matches.

Indians split two meets with Wood
VACAVILLE — The Armijo High track teams split a pair of Monticello Empire League dual meets with Will C. Wood, Wednesday.
The girls prevailed 77-43, while the boys fell 77-61.
The Indians’ Gabriella Nathan-Funk won four events (100 HH, 300 LH, both relays), while Tyra Holt (200, 400, 4×100) and Jadiel Wright (long jump, triple jump, 4×100) each won three events.
Michael Cartier (110 HH), Jeff Brown (300 IH) and Terris Brooks (200) won events for the Armijo boys.

Armijo edged by Davis
FAIRFIELD— The Armijo High badminton team lost a close match to Davis Wednesday, 9-6.
THe Indians managed to split the singles matches with the Blue Devils at four wins apiece, but Davis pulled aways in doubles.
Lourdes Calisa and Kathleen Boholst both earned singles wins for the Indians.

Mustangs JV squad rallies past Wolves
AMERICAN CANYON— The Rodriguez High junior varsity softball team came roaring back to defeat American Canyon on the road 12-3.
The Mustangs remained scoreless until a six-run fifth inning.
The scoring continued in the sixth when they added five runs before sealing the victory with one more in the seventh.

Fairfield falls to Benicia
FAIRFIELD— The Fairfield High boys golf team lost its second match of the season Wednesday, falling to Benicia 210-296.
Andy Castillo led the Falcons, shooting a 47 and Jacob Maul was Fairfield’s followed with a 56.

Vikings fall to Crushers on road
NAPA— The Vanden High baseball team suffered a narrow 4-3 loss to host Vintage Wednesday.
Vanden attempted to come back, scoring two runs in the seventh inning, but Vintage held on.
Alejandro Lara had two hits and an RBI for the Vikings in the loss.
