VACAVILLE — Darci Chadwick loves running a local business in downtown Vacaville.

Her goal in opening a women’s specialty boutique was to build a business that would attract shoppers looking for unique fashion selections.

“I have 23 years experience in the retail industry and recognized that we needed more shopping options in Solano County,” she said. “I wanted to give local women a place to shop for specialty apparel and accessories and was eager to fill a void that seemed to be missing in our area. Many people are tired of ‘outlet and big-box’ shopping and they’re leaving the county looking for better fashion selections. Now, our ladies can shop at In The Mix and support our local economy.”

She opened her shop in November 2012 and is thrilled to see the business flourish.

“The community has welcomed us with open arms and I thank them for their continued encouragement and support. They love the atmosphere of our downtown location in Town Square as well as the quality and value of our merchandise,” Chadwick said. “I’m totally committed to my customers and am passionate about the service that I bring to them every day. I travel to most major markets in search of high-quality fashion and gifts because I want our customers to come into the shop and enjoy the very latest and greatest of what’s available in the marketplace.”

Services the boutique provides customers include one-on-one wardrobe assistance, free special ordering and gift-wrapping.

Chadwick won approval to carry Brighton Collectibles and In the Mix is carrying its products.

Brighton is a nationally recognized brand that creates fashion accessories and gifts, which are known for being made with top-quality materials. Their designs are heartfelt and rich with detail, Chadwick said. An icon in the accessories industry, Brighton has helped make In The Mix Boutique a destination shop, the store owner said.

“Brighton has a store locator feature on their website and people are able to see that Brighton is available in downtown Vacaville at In The Mix Boutique,” she said. “Customers come from all over, many of them driving 40 to 50 miles to make a Brighton purchase in my shop.”

Chadwick has done extensive training with Brighton. She said it’s a privilege to sell their products. Brighton continues to be the Vacaville boutique’s top-selling brand and the store is now one of the company’s highest volume specialty retailers in the region.

Along with Brighton, In The Mix carries premium denim such as NYDJ, Paige, Joes, 7 For All Mankind and Henry & Belle. Coobies Intimates and Weston Wear, both of which retail at fine department stores, are also available.
