It’s no secret what Solano Community College brings to the county. So much so that Daily Republic readers named it the best place to continue their education. Catering to students of all ages, the college offers a host of programs for people interested in everything from cosmetology to automotive technology. “Solano Community College has been helping students from all walks of life achieve their goals since 1945,” the school’s website says. “We can provide the resources you need for university transfer, job training or personal development.” In addition to the programs and training available, SCC can save students thousands of dollars as they prepare for their degrees. “Students can complete the first two years of their bachelor’s degree at a fraction of the cost of a four-year university, and transfer as a junior with admission priority to major universities,” the website says. “We have transfer agreements with seven (University of California) campuses and offer a wide selection of transferable classes. In addition, Solano Community College coordinates with Sonoma State University to offer a full bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts through our Vallejo center.” With locations in Vallejo, Fairfield and Vacaville, the school prides itself on being convenient for its students.
