For gaming, luxury hotel accommodations and a quick getaway, Daily Republic readers were clear: Cache Creek Casino Resort is the place to be. The resort is owned and operated by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, located in Brooks, less than an hour’s drive from Fairfield. Cache Creek began as a bingo hall in 1985, and now features more than 2,400 slot machines and 122 table games, including a 14-table poker room, according to the resort’s website. The property also includes a 200-room luxury hotel and health spa, eight restaurants, Club 88 entertainment venue, outdoor swimming pool, casino gift shop and tribal-operated mini mart, gas station and fire station. The place also strives to be the best it can for its customers. “Each time we would get a little bigger, I’d look around and think to myself, ‘We need to do more for our customers as well as our employees,’ ” general manager Randy Takemoto says on the casino’s website.

Runners-up: Thunder Valley Casino Resort, Red Hawk Casino, Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort
