“I grew up the daughter of an academic dermatologist in Chicago and I have always known the importance of skin health,” Dr. Erica R. Aronson says of what prompted her to go into medicine and dermatology. “I chose a career in medicine because I wanted to spend my life helping people.
“I have witnessed the devastation that ongoing skin disease can inflict on people’s lives.”
Aronson has trained in rigorous academic centers that include Stanford University for her undergraduate degree in psychology followed by attending The University of Chicago for her medical training. At The University of Chicago, she received her medical degree and completed advanced training in internal medicine and dermatology.
Dermatology has been a constant throughout Aronson’s life. Her experiences range from the animated dinner conversations about complicated dermatology patients with her mother as a child to the many patients she has cared for in her own practice in the clinic and hospital.
“I am dedicated to treating my patients’ skin and overall health and I am committed to the well-being of my patients,” Aronson says. “My interests include all dermatological issues with an emphasis on patients with complex medical issues that can often affect the skin.”
