Ellen Anderson, who runs Ellen Anderson, M.A. Hearing Services, earned her bachelor’s degree in speech, pathology and audiology at Boston University and her master’s degree in audiology from San Francisco State University. She holds California state licenses in audiology and as a hearing instrument specialist. Anderson is a fellow with the American Academy of Audiology and is a member of the California Academy of Audiology.
Anderson served as an audiologist with the Veterans Home of California for three years, developing a program for hearing testing and hearing aids at Yountville before she established Ellen Anderson, M.A. Hearing Services in February 1980 in Fairfield.
Her work first involves diagnostic audiology, testing and diagnosing her patients with what’s wrong, and then making recommendations for hearing aids or devices to improve their hearing. She has since expanded to offer services in Vacaville, Rio Vista and Vallejo.
Her practice is affiliated with the Audigy Group. She offers an array of hearing aids for lifestyles ranging from “very quiet” to “active” and styles that include behind-the-ear and in-the-ear, among others. She also offers assisted listening devices that improve telephone and television usage for people with impaired hearing.
Digital hearing devices provides us the opportunity to customize an individual’s unique hearing difficulties, Anderson said. Everyone is different and therefore needs a variety of computer adjustments. Digital hearing products provide us with this opportunity.
Anderson says her staff members “are very focused on service and we want people here to be happy with the service we give them.”
