Halloween Costume Contest and Sidewalk Stroll
A great time for kids of all ages during the popular Halloween Costume Contest and Sidewalk Stroll at 10 a.m. at the City Park, located at First and Military. The local merchants on First Street get into the spirit of the holiday for all to shop and enjoy. At noon there will be a Canine & Critter Costume Contest on the First Street Green with awards and treats.
Christmas Parade and Holiday Market

The parade starts at 10 a.m. at First and D Street and ends at H Street. The parade features local marching bands, dancers, and the much-anticipated Santa Claus. The Holiday Market features handcrafted arts and crafts, gourmet items and delicious foods.

The 27th Annual Lambtown Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dixon May Fair Grounds, 655 South 1st St. There will be craft and fiber booths, competitions, and as always, a variety of great food celebrating the lamb industry and the rich agricultural heritage of the region.

This year’s parade theme is “Let Freedom Ring.” A pre-parade ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the Fairfield Center for the Performing Arts at 1035 Texas St.
The parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. and run through Texas Street.

The 5th annual Solano Turkey Trot will be held in the beautiful Suisun Valley on Thanksgiving Day, 2013 at 8 a.m. This year’s race is a mass start for the 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk. All runners will be lined up according to their pace. The lineup will be clearly marked by pace time. The main staging area for all race-day activities is at Solano Community College located at 4000 Suisun Valley Road in Fairfield. Other race-day activities include food booths, awards and other fun activities for the entire family.
This year we will be adding a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run that will start at 10 a.m.
Holiday Candlelight Caroling & Christmas Tree Lighting

Fairfield will hold its annual holiday candlelight caroling and Christmas tree lighting event to include performances, visits with Santa Claus, face painting and a Candy Land Scavenger Hunt for children age 13 and younger.

A staple in the area, the Rio Vista Bass Derby — the oldest on the West Coast — attracts anglers from near and far. Combined with the Bass Festival, the event is a multi-day party that has something for everyone.
The parade begins at noon on the last day. In addition to the Bass Derby, which is the oldest on the West Coast and begins Oct. 11, there will be a carnival, vendors, a pancake breakfast, a garage sale, fishing tank for kids, a car show, a soap box derby, fireworks and entertainment.

Festivities begin at noon and include arts and craft vendors, Main Street parade, a boat parade and the annual tree lightening ceremony put on by Hospice of San Joaquin. The event is usually held in conjunction with Christmas festivities at the Rio Vista Museum, 16 N. Front St.

Downtown Vacaville comes alive once again for the 31st Anniversary of Merriment On Main. On Tuesday, Dec. 3 there will be the tree lighting, carols will be sung throughout Downtown, there’s also a live Nativity scene, and Santa will be arriving once again to kick off “Merriment On Main.” All the fun starts at 4:30 p.m. so come early and carol with your friends as you stroll along Main, Merchant, Parker, Davis streets.

Nancy Jo Schreeder, now in her 40th year selling dolls, presents a fair with 75 vendors selling all things dolls. There are antique dolls from the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s, dolls for as much as $1,000 and as little as $1 and even furniture for dolls. Vendors come from as far as Sweden and as close as Solano County. Show held at Solano County Fairgrounds, 900 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo.
