Solano County hosted an official ribbon-cutting Thursday to open the new Stanton Correctional Facility – a state-of-the-art jail to hold 362 maximum-security inmates.
Here were some comments from our website on an article about the opening:
- Meanwhile, the public school system is a total joke. Why don’t we pour some money into schools instead of making inmates more cozy?
- Congratulations on all the hard work put into making this facility what it will become. Hopefully now this will relieve some of the stress of the overcrowding. Of course, there is going to be all the doubters and complainers, but this taxpayer is happy to see where my money has gone.
- So they get free vocational training while young adults who did everything right have to foot loans for vocational school and be stuck with debt. Aren’t we putting the cart before the horse?
- Dig a hole about 12 feet in diameter and about 1,200 feet deep. Dump ’em in till they start leaking out. Cover up that hole and start digging another hole. Keep digging holes till the taxpayers are all dead and the only ones around are the potential hole dwellers.
