Solano Community College last week revealed that it faces a $2.6 deficit for this year.
Here are some comments from our website on an article before a board meeting on the subject:
I have a great idea, lay off the majority of their counselors. Their lack of skills to help students to transfer added an extra year of school and that is apparently the norm for them.
Well, if the enrollment isn’t increasing, how about giving back most of the $348 million Measure Q money that is not really needed? If it is bad to waste water, then it should be many times worse to waste the taxpayers’ money?
Repeating drawing or tennis classes is not educating anyone!
Start cutting at the top with overblown administrative salaries and combine administrative duties. With a declining enrollment the college can do with less administrative staff and fewer meetings.
