Last week, the Daily Republic featured a story on the views of Board of Supervisors candidates about Plan Bay Area,
Here are some comments on the story from our website:
- I also do not like being lumped in with the rest of the Bay Area, even though we are officially a Bay Area county, but it just does not feel like we are. I especially do not like it come late fall and winter, when the air resources board lumps us in with the rest of the hazy-aired Bay Area. Our air is nothing like the large, crowded areas.
- Someone, anyone, please tell me the name of just one high density development in Fairfield that hasn’t deteriorated into a less desirable place to live. Cordelia doesn’t count.
- Here’s how this works. Despite their positions now, the candidates, once elected will support this project. After all, if they don’t, the free money won’t flow to our area.
- One of the prime movers in Plan Bay Area is none other than our own Jim Spering. Spering would rather do away with any authority now held by cities and counties and give full power to the nameless, faceless, unelected bureaucrats who are the people pushing One Bay Area, or whatever it is called.
