Let’s compare politics to fact

heal column sig

By
From page A8 | May 12, 2014 |

This is the fourth of a series of topical columns titled “The Right Stuff” to promote thought and ensure accuracy within political campaigns and issues. Our objective is to promote interest among voters to separate fact from opinion or fiction. It is time for voters to demand representatives who promote the founding principles of our country at every level of government.

It is clear that President Barack Obama and his “lock-step liberal” yes men are willing to lie about anything. It is proven that the administration knew immediately that the attack in Benghazi was not a street protest (spontaneous protesters do not carry rocket-propelled grenades), but the game was successful in hiding the truth past Election Day. Contrary to Hillary Clinton’s question, it does matter and answers to several questions will possibly prove criminal negligence.

As a former air rescue controller for a year in Southwest Asia, I present the following questions and facts.

Question 1. Who denied the ambassador’s early request for additional security and why?

Question 2. Why were not additional security measures provided based on the anniversary day of 9/11 – a normal procedure worldwide for politically significant dates? Fact: Other American and foreign embassies in the theater took precautionary security measures for that time.

Question 3. Why were not U.S. Air Force C-130 gunships on alert that day at Sigonella Naval Station, Italy? Fact. These gunships are very effective for this situation because of their extreme accuracy and would have been on scene within two hours of call.

Question 4. Why were not U.S. Air Force F-16 fighters launched from Aviano Air Base, Italy? Fact: F-16s, if alerted when the initial reports came, could have been fully loaded with armament and over the consulate by midnight during the attack.

Question 5: Who ordered the military to stand down from providing assistance? Fact: The military has a long history of never leaving behind someone under attack or in danger. We sometimes put rescue crews in extreme danger for a rescue, but we never ceased operations until the endangered member was saved or recovered. Some saves were complete in an hour, one took 11 days, one required 23 days.

Question 6: Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta stated that rescue could not be effected because we do not put rescue crews in danger if we do not have good intelligence on the battle scene. Does anyone believe that? Fact: You hope to have an aircraft in the area for the pilot to serve as on-scene commander to make visual observations, but that was unnecessary for this scenario. Sometimes you have nothing except radio contact with the survivor. Never did I have a real-time video of the entire scene.

Question 7: Two flag officers (Navy and Army) were allegedly fired because of this operation. What are the official reasons provided?

Question 8. Is it true that the president, the only person authorized to make certain political decision for this rescue operation, departed the command center while the outcome was unknown and went to bed?

Question 9. If the answer to Question 8 is affirmative, please explain how the president could go to sleep with the battle underway. To be answered only be a psychologist.

Question 10: Where does Rep. John Garamendi stand in this dust-up? Is he in lock-step with Obama and Clinton? Most importantly, where does he stand on the various cuts to our military?

To voters: Demand the truth. Watergate was nothing to this – that was a two-bit burglary. Four men died in Benghazi or no reason except incompetence at a minimum and possible criminal dereliction of duty.

Additionally - as Trey Gowdy pointed out yesterday in an interview, the question he really wants to ask Hillary is, "Why were we still in Benghazi after everyone else had left?" Just answer that question, Hillary. Pelosi and pals are really trying to persuade folks that there's no there there. The same gal who said that they had to pass Obamacare so they could find out what's in it. More importantly -four Americans died, Hillary. That's reason enough to convene this team (with or without Democratic support) because IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Youtube...Rockefeller Reveals 9 11 FRAUD and New World Order to Aaron ...............Hollywood director Russo goes in-depth for first time on the astounding admissions of Nick Rockefeller, including his prediction of 9/11 and the war on terror hoax, the Rockefeller's creation of women's lib, and the elite's ultimate plan for world population reduction and a microchipped society Aaron Russo joins Alex Jones for a fascinating sit-down in depth video interview on a plethora of important subjects. Aaron begins by describing how the draconian and mafia tactics of Chicago police woke him up to the fact that America wasn't free after his nightclub was routinely raided and he was forced to pay protection money. Aaron and Alex then cover a broad range of topics including the private run for profit federal reserve, Aaron's experience in the late 80's with the IRS when they retroactively passed laws to punish silver and gold traders, the real meaning of the word "democracy," what really happened on 9/11 and Aaron's relationship with Nick Rockefeller, who personally tried to recruit him on behalf of the CFR. Aaron also relates how Rockefeller told him that the elite created women's liberation to destroy the family and how they want to ultimately microchip and control the entire population. Rockefeller also told before 9/11 Russo that an unexpected "event" would catalyze the U.S. to invade Afghanistan and Iraq.«

T5: That IS an interesting question, and a lot better one than any surrounding the accusations that the administration lied about the incident. What do you think the answer most anti-Hillary would be? That's what this is all about now, isn't it? Obama got reelected and is not running again, so it's not about him. Hillary and congressional Democrats running in November, Earl makes that clear.

I would do another Benghazi column, but you guys have twice as many column inches as me to spew foxist hatred and innuendo. By the time i answer one, you've had time to spawn two others. The Presidents Republican and Democrat are controlled by the Banking Powers... 9/11 was an inside job by both Republicans and Democrats to set the stage for justifying endless wars of consolidation for the International Banking powers... The real question should be ... Why are we now allowing The Obama Administration/Killary/Kerry/Hagel/NATO/CIA/MI6/Mossad to do the bidding of the International Bankers country consolidations for the NWO.... Why were "we" gun running munitions into Syria in the first place.... Why no outrage over the Obama administration totally disrupting Syria the way the Bushs did Iraq and Afghanistan... Why are we in the Ukraine... All wars are Banker wars ( youtube this ) this Ukraine thing was set up by them also and Russia is not necessarily the bad guy here.... The Media is controlled by these same bankers... so they program us to cheer for their wars... WAKE UP

Hey Earl, great article. The deranged Liberals are once again circling the wagons trying to defend the indefensible. Liberals don't want the REAL truth to come out; they only want their own version of the truth to come out. Can you imagine the Liberal outrage if this was a Republican administration? The Mike Kirchubels and CD Brooks' of the world are now feigning false indignation because the adults are now running the show. There's a new Sheriff in town, and his name is Trey Godwy, and his job is going to be to get at the truth behind what really happened in Benghazi, A to Z. Not the lying Obama administration's version of the truth. The American people deserve the real truth, not the Liberals version of the truth.

To do this, they must push every country to its knees so that the citizenry cannot fight back. America appears to be the last stronghold for them to conquer, and at that, we are already weakened. They employ a slate of techniques to establish the NWO, but behind each of these methods is one basic practice: To instill fear in the masses so that we will rely on the government for safety and protection, and thus yield our rights and freedoms in the process. Below are some of the major means for the Illuminati to achieve their goal, but don't mistake a rose for a rose and attribute everything to them:... Please read these 40 Techniques..

If any of the liberals watched the interview with Trey Gowdy yesterday, they would have heard the answer to the "We've already had 7 hearings. Why do we need more?" question. None of the other 7 hearings had subpoena power over folks like Hillary Clinton or Susan Rice. Trey Gowdy stated quite clearly that this committee will have the power needed to get Hillary, Susan Rice, and any of the other folks to the hearing. For those not paying attention, e-mails that were requested 19 months ago by the Issa committee were finally turned over just 2 weeks ago because Judicial Watch sued and the folks in power had to turn over the docs. If there is nothing to hide, why has the "most transparent administration" so blatantly lied/hid/objected to finding out about the truth?

T5: None of the other investigations were headed by Trey Gowdy is probably a better answer, but even he couldn't say that. This is an old trick used against the other Clinton: Force testimony under oath, then ask embarrassing questions unrelated to the authorized investigation to try to force perjury. Notice Bush II didn't fall for it. He not only refused to testify under oath, but he insisted it be in closed session and Cheney be there to hold his hand.

Here is the ultimate in liberal whack-job cynicism: Eleanor Clift, Daily Beast columnist, stated on national television YESTERDAY that Ambassador Stevens was not "murdered," he actually "died of smoke inhalation in the compound safe room." She then went on to repeat the initial lie by the administration that the attack was caused by the anti-muslim video--a story that even the white house abandoned long ago. This, folks, is what we are up against when we waste our time trying to reason with the libs on this forum about Benghazi or almost any other topic. Mr. Smith, just in case you all missed it, there were investigations and high end operations in the region. They determined there were no WMD's and reading between the lines pretty much spelled out what was going to happen. To think you'd accept Saddam's ruse shows your interest in supporting anything your party says or does. Furthermore, my political acumen has been pretty near right on the money since I came aboard. You can challenge argue and deny but I have followed a very strict honest and factual line. Opinions are one thing but if I cite something as fact you can be certain I looked it up first. You may not like what I say but you will be hard pressed to find my information incorrect. But then you’d have to look and none of you have ever chosen to do so. You’d rather say you’re not going to take the time or I’m just wrong. Nice.

Mr. S, your list of democrats who agreed with bush and cheney about w.m.d.s rings hollow, since the "information" was provided by the executive branch... that is, bush and cheney. Ask colin powell about the veracity of their "information"

Glad to hear you have no trouble sleeping, CD. As for the rabbit hole of the Bush/wmd/Iraq war, I will let that one go back to sleep, also. But I still have the list of prominent Dems who believed, plus their exact quotes about it:>)

Mr. Smith, I appreciate there were plenty of "believers." I cannot be counted among them and I am not responsible for their inability in seeing the truth. Believe it or not, I don't support everything or agree 100% with my party all the time. My goal has been an attempt to inform those less willing to see the truth specifically because they have shown reluctance in finding it on their own. You're welcome.

Listening to Smith comment on this one sided column by a right winger is like watching the blind leading the blind. Who can reason with people who's heroes are the likes of Cheney and Rumsfeld? I bet Smith believes that witches should be burnt at the stake........Seems these people belong in Saudi Arabia. As Oprah said, its about hating the commander in chief not because he's unqualified, they can't bear a black man in office. Well Smith, you can rant and rave and call us Libs! It's a new day in the USofA, and you are a citizen of a brand new world where a poor lil black boy grew up to become the first BLACK president of our great nation! Not a rich white Papa's coke head boy, who caused this country to the brink of a recession and needless wars. No, an honest, hard working, compassionate, brilliant black boy from the hood! Take that and smoke it in your red neck pipe!

October 22, 2012 | The Benghazi shuffle As informed Daily Republic readers know, Mitt Romney is no foreign policy guru. His European trip this summer was a gaffe-fest which, while providing entertaining reading here at home, irritated citizens and leaders of several allied nations. Rumor has it that Romney was stung so badly in last week’s debate by his Benghazi blunder, that he is now actually checking news sources outside of the Fox bubble, cramming for Monday’s foreign policy debate. Expect another round of major policy reversals. In the Daily Republic article, “Romney sees Libya from his kitchen,” I wrote “Gov. Mitt Romney, either confused about the details and timeline or not caring and simply wishing to score cheap political points, blasted President Barack Obama, saying, ‘An apology for America’s values is never the right course.’ . . . By Wednesday, major newswires had explained the timeline clearly and as facts were compared with statements, both Republican and Democratic Party leaders condemned Romney’s appalling lack of judgment.” Well, Republican strategists have successfully buried Romney’s “appalling lack of judgment” under a mountain of editorials condemning President Obama for the terrorist attack in Benghazi, including one by this paper. I asked last week: “Does it make sense for congressional Republicans to cut U.S. embassy funding by $500 million annually and then complain about inadequate security in Benghazi?” Apparently it’s “Yes,” if you can convince voters the attack was Obama’s fault and distract them from Romney’s blunders and malarkey. When Republicans voted to slash $1.2 billion from State Department operations in 2009, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that reducing the State Department budget would be “detrimental to America’s national security.” Romney blusters he will increase the defense spending $2 trillion, but you can expect deep State Department cuts with Romney/Ryan budgets. It is truly naïve to believe the State Department and preventing wars are not essential factors determining our security. Question: Should U.S. embassy deaths be used as a football, kicked around to score cheap political points? In the Libya column, I said, “Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador killed by terrorists, grew up right next door to us, in Davis. You have to wonder how his family feels about this crass politicization of his death.” Well, now we know. Chris Stevens’ father said it was “abhorrent” that his son’s death has been politicized. “It does not belong in the campaign arena.” Barbara Doherty, mother of a Navy SEAL killed in the attack, also asked Mitt Romney to stop mentioning her son’s name while campaigning. “I don’t trust Romney. He shouldn’t make my son’s death part of his political agenda.” Now, let’s see where Benghazi fits into the Big Picture; here’s a list of U.S. Embassy attacks under the last five presidents: – Ronald Reagan: 1983, Beirut and Kuwait. 1984, Beirut and Bogota. 1986, Jakarta. 1987, Rome. – George H.W. Bush: 1989, Bogota, Panama, Bolivia and Santiago. 1990, Tel Aviv. – Bill Clinton: 1993, Lima. 1995, Moscow. 1998, Beirut, Kenya, Tanzania. – George W. Bush: 2002, Calcutta, Pakistan and Indonesia. 2003, Pakistan. 2004, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia. 2006, Pakistan and Syria. 2007, Athens. 2008, Yemen and Serbia. – President Obama: 2010, Pakistan. 2012, Cairo and Benghazi. Terrorists don’t really care which political party is in power and obviously no previous president had the god-like, omnipotent qualities Republicans are now demanding of President Obama. Republican strategists don’t want you to dig too deep into this matter; just accept their spin at face value. But now you know, so let’s move beyond their artificial distraction and discuss Romney’s bogus budget math, bipolar policy swings, the blatant lies that permeate his campaign and real issues affecting us right here in Fairfield.

Mike: Thanks for the encore! How soon people forget how on top of issues you've been. The Republicans failed to ask my the right questions, instead choosing to go down the Susan Rice rabbit hole. You knew the right questions right from the get-go. Ambassador Stevens risked his life to do his job, Republican-deprived security notwithstanding. It probably wasn't the first time. Only this time he lost the gamble. May we always have such courage in our diplomatic service, and may we learn from our mistakes. If only Trey Gowdy would make THAT his mission...
