Who loves the fiscal cliff?

Web_OurView_YourView

Stephen Davis in his letter (March 13, “Why GOP loves ‘fiscal cliff’ “) writes that Republicans are dancing in the streets and that draconian cuts in government are the Republican mantra for four years. He goes on and writes that they are obstructionist and refuse to participate in a two-party system.

Well, Mr. Davis has it wrong. For four years President Barack Obama has not come up with a budget and the Senate, that is controlled by the Democrats and lead by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, has not come up with a budget nor has he allowed any budget that the House of Representatives came up with to be brought to the floor of the Senate for a vote; and yes, the House of Representatives is controlled by the Republicans.

So you see, it is the Senate Democrats and President Obama who are the obstructionists and refuse to participate in the two-party system. They are the ones who want us to fall off the fiscal cliff so more people will be dependent on the government handouts.

Welcome to the new USSR (United States Socialist Republic)

Mr. Madronich, this letter is a perfect example of the Republican mentality and why they need to change. FOX-isms will only deepen the hole you’re mired in. There is a serious disconnect between the Republican/Conservative philosophy and real life. We keep reaching out providing good solid information and non-edited factual material but you refuse to listen. You should look back at the candidates you put forth in the last election and recognize how poorly representative they were. Yet they are still out there speaking for your party and you continue asking yourselves “what did we do wrong?” DUH! The GOP is not warm they openly threatened American women, minorities and gay citizens with taking away their rights and replacing their version of biblical law over the Constitution. And here you are STILL whining about the same stuff that caused you huge losses. You need a new cast of characters, new thinking and a 21st century plan. If they continue this course, the GOP will get hammered in 2014 and will lose their majority coming out of the 2016 elections. I am very comfortable knowing my rights were saved the day Romney et al lost.

Mr Brooks You ramble on about the GOP is not warm and that they openly threaten American women, minorities and Gay citizens taking away their rights. When my letter was about President Obama and the Senate that is controlled by Democrats not coming up with a budget and refusing to let any budget to be voted on. Please Mr Brooks if you have a point about the GOP taking away rights of Women. minorities and gay citizens do so in your own letter to the editor and state facts. The facts are the President and the senate have not come up with a budget for the last four years or allowed any budget to be voted on in the senate. And you forgot to say that the GOP also wants dirty air and dirty water at least thats what the main stream media wants us to believe.

Mr. Madronich, you brought up the freedoms issue Sir. Are freedoms rights? You are incapable of recognizing the truth and I have grown weary over the past several years attempting to enlighten you. On top of the other things I mentioned, your party wants to strip American seniors of their SSI and Medicare and you defend them as protecting your freedoms? Seriously? You are simply another in a very long line of lost Republicans masquerading as thinkers

Mr Brooks Can you comment on just who loves the fiscal cliff and why President Obama and the senate has not come up with a budget or allowed any budget to be voted on. That is the point in my letter to the editor

I have been making comments for years Sir. It doesn't matter what I say, you will only find fault with Obama instead of Boehner and McConnell where the real problems lie. You all should be working on repairing a sinking ship, that is the one clear fact you might recognize. Good evening.

Mr Brooks Yes you have been making comments for years i do read your comments from time to time when i can read the paper The fact is that when ever liberal socialists like your self are presented with the facts you can only respond with lies and false truths and it is you that only find fault with the ones like my self that takes the time to disagree with you. MR Brooks i ask you once again please comment on the fact as to why the President and the Senate can not and will not come up with a budget or let a budget be brought to the floor of the Senate for a vote. By you avoiding the question, it only shows just who loves the fiscal cliff.

Mr. Madronich, liberal socialists? I respond with lies and false truths? I spent the last six years responding to garbage like yours Sir and knocking it out of the park. You are an example of the FOX/GOP spin machine and as I said, a waste of effort. The truth has been presented numerous times here. But of course, you use the “obfuscation card” and attempt to reverse the tables. Good luck with that.

Mr Brooks you continue to avoid the question. I once again ask you to respond to why the president and the senate have not come up with a budget or allowed a budget to be brought to the floor of the senate for a vote.

Genius? Don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back, CD. Genius? Better check under your bed every night to make sure there isn't a FOX under there. Genius? I guess by DNC standards you may be. To the real world, you seem to be a smug, DNC apologist and political hack. Sleep well, Genius, after you shoo away the FOXES that may lurk in your bedroom.

CD Brooks can't possibly criticize his party on any factual issue. Come to think of it, when was the last time you heard any rat party member say anything critical about their party? They are the rat party of no budgets, a devalued US dollar, high unemployment, high gas prices, euro-styled economic stagnation, crazy banking and housing rules (any indigent can buy a home without income or credit), hostility towards white males and southerners, hostility to States rights and the Constitution, an imperial presidency, unbridled abusive tyrannical government exceeding the restraint the Constitution imposes, failure to secure the borders, failure to expeditiously win the just war, failure to bring to Justice rogue USAF generals, failure to protect the American people from terrorists and narco-terrorists, taking campaign cash from hostile foreign powers, lying, stealing, murder, obstruction of justice, failure to protect and uphold our God given civil rights----you name it, your rat party and the executive branch they infest is doing it all and you're letting them get away with it! WHY?

Can't we just say that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans find it politic to propose a budget that can actually pass? With the House in control of the Republicans, the weird Senate rules that allow minority rule, and the fiscal mess Bush left behind, the Republicans are hardly an innocent party. What we lack are moderates who can find a pathway to a deal. In years past such moderates would go in a room together and emerge with a deal they all would support, and their numbers would rule the day. That moderate caucus no longer exists, but it is also true that the Republicans since Reagan have put the nation into such a fiscal hole that we need more than a compromise for something that would actually work, featuring a more progressive tax system and cuts in welfare to corporations and the rich (remember “too big to fail?”). No Republican support for that. So we have to settle for no budgets and continuing resolutions until after the 2014 elections. I'm hoping for more Democratic gains, but I doubt they will be enough for the Republicans to see the light.

rlw895 How can you say that neither the Democrats or the Republicans find it politic to propose a budget that can actually pass when the Republican controlled house of Representatives have proposed several budgets and the President and the Senate Democrats who control the senate have not come up with a budget or has the senate allowed any budget from the house of Representatives to be brought to the flood of the senate for a vote. So you see it is the President and the Democratic controlled senate who do not want to pass a budget and fall off the Fiscal Cliff.

I can say it easily, because it's true. The facts you cite do not refute my point.
