As a former member of the United States Navy and partially disabled veteran, I wish to make your readership aware of the situation that exists within the Northern California Veterans Affairs health care system.
I have used the VA health care system for many years now. Having found myself with lower and middle back problems, I requested that I be examined by a chiropractic doctor in an effort to relieve pain associated within my back. I find it hard to believe that there is only one chiropractor within the Northern California VA health care system available to see veterans who suffer with chronic back pain. Currently, the wait list is four months.
When asked about the availability of chiropractic care, no one seems to have an explanation as to the lack of doctors. It seems very odd to me that there could be only one chiropractor for all of Northern California. As we all wait to see what President Barack Obama and Congress will do with regard to the Syria situation, the cost of war will be great. Millions will be spent on rockets, bombs and jet fuel.
Tell me we can’t afford more than one chiropractor for all of Northern California.
