Thanks to Solano County Animal Control, Suisun City PD

I would like to thank both the Solano County Animal Control officers as well as the Suisun City Police Department officers for their actions on Wednesday, July 16. On that day, they cited one of my neighbors for animal cruelty and confiscated the poisoned trap he used in his backyard.

Thankfully, the latest intended victim, Marsh Cat, was rescued from the trap by her owner Jenelle before she was killed.

If the suspect was bothered by cats in his yard, he should have voiced his concerns to his neighbors. The only legal step to take after trapping an animal in your yard is to take it to the Animal Control office.

At least eight cats disappeared in our neighborhood last fall, and two more were found poisoned. Killing animals is a violation of the California Penal Code. I urge others who care about animals to join me in contacting the Solano County District Attorney’s Office to seek justice in the prosecution of the suspect.

Thank you also to Ian Thompson for caring enough to write the articles about the missing cats on Kinglet Street.

Now if they could get our neighbors to stop the incessant barking .they say they can't talk to them anymore or it would be harassment. What about the harassment of the neighbors who have to listen to it ?

While I do not support harming any animal I think bothering the DA as a non involved third party is the last thing their office needs.

Clancy, sue them in small claims court. You do not even need an lawyer. All it takes is showing:There is excessive and disturbing noise. The person you are suing is either creating/allowing the noise or is the landlord and therefore responsible. Your enjoyment of your home is affected. You have asked the person to stop the noise. To prove your case, use police reports, witnesses, your own testimony, or even a recording. Ask for $20-$100per day the problem exists. I won $7500 from a malicious neighbor when animal control and the police were of little remedy. Losing $7500 along with trying to argue their losing position in court has a way of humbling the most recalcitrant dog owner.
