Thanks for the prayers

By From page A8 | June 22, 2014

I want to thank many of you for your prayers, good thoughts, email messages, get-well cards and letters of good sunshine wishes. I have completed the chemotherapy. What remains are the removal of the port, a recommended diet to ward off more cancer cells, and a thorough exam.

I give a shout-out to prayer warriors, spiritual groups, public safety departments, various church denominations, individuals, ministers, to the Leadership Today 2014 and many friends. I believe in prayer and prayer is what brought me through my life-threatening ordeal. In addition, I had excellent surgeons, oncologists and oncology nurses, plus Kaiser Permanente’s caring volunteers who hovered over me.

Thanks to my faithful drivers who drove me to my treatments. I couldn’t have made it through without your help.

Regardless of what forces were at work, kudos to anyone who survives a cancer scare. Congrats, Alvina!
