Some good news for a change

By From page A13 | June 11, 2014

With all the negative things in the paper nowadays, I felt compelled to write about something that is thumbs-up wonderful. In the paper on May 24 was a half page article re: Armijo Helping Hands, a group of young people enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program, doing community service hours.

It started in 2012 and continues to this day with the new president taking over. They meet twice a week on their lunch hour and try to accommodate everything they can as there are limitations due to kids doing sports and the rigorous academic program.

For anyone who did not see the article, go online and read about these young people. I say congratulations to them, their parents and teachers and I hope more students will join their group and do good for the community they live in instead of trying to destroy things.
