Restrict gun ownership? A very bad idea! Ultimately, this will lead to total confiscation of guns. Australia confiscated civilian guns back in the 1990s at great expense and they wound up with a big spike in home-invasion robberies and holdups. The general public was left defenseless against criminals.
Protecting our schoolchildren? There is only one way to do that; which means having some armed personnel on every school campus. Altogether, we have far too many politicians, particularly Democrats, who are anxious to limit our freedoms while they spend public funds with reckless abandon. Our most crime-ridden cities including Democrat-run Chicago have extremely strict gun laws while areas that allow one to carry concealed weapons have a much lower crime rate.
Unfortunately, we now have a president who seems bent upon destroying our Constitution, decimating our military and wrecking our economy.
California now has a Democratic governor and a Democratic-dominated Legislature that had and may soon have again a veto-proof two-thirds majority. This is getting uncomfortably close to being a legislative dictatorship.
Mainly under Democratic control over the past 20 years, our state has gone from top ranking to dead bottom in most categories. State finances are a total disaster, and many people and businesses are leaving the state every day. I sure hate to think of what is going to come out of the Sacramento bill mill this year. A total of 2,200 new bills are already in the hopper; it is indeed a nightmare in the making.
I shudder to think what our legislative loony bin will do concerning gun control and taxes. Like taxes? Rejoice as the State Board of Equalization is expected to hike the state gas tax 3.5 cents in July.
