Redemption possible for governor

There comes a time when we must re-assess our priorities and represent the people.

Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr. is well aware of the economic plight of California and our drought conditions, yet he persists in his desire to be glorified with the completion of the bullet train program. Is he trying to outdo his father? Does the “G” in his middle name stand for “glory seeker”? It has been well documented, by those who are wiser than I, that it will be an abysmal failure, based on cost overruns to date, and insufficient projected usage guarantees that outcome.

However, here is my redemptive solution for Brown.

Instead of building the twin tunnels, which has been challenged in the courts, and siphoning the water from the Sacramento River, instead build railroad water tankers and attach them to his bullet train to provide water to our needy food and agriculture economy.

Hal Brown
