There are many like myself whom are content, humble, satisfied & happy with life, & enjoying it's many wonders.
Eons ago, the only answers to the frightening phenomena of earthquakes, thunder storms, etc., or even the natural beauty of things, were attributed to deities, spirits, demons, & gods.
Today, we have many of the answers. We still search for the answers & truths using the best form of investigation: The Scientific Method.
For those who "want to believe" they have the final answer, there is "religion". For those who "want to know" the answer[s], there is the Scientific Method; because the answers still wait to be found.I, & those like myself, don't "deny" the existence of your particular god, or any god for that matter. There is no actual reason to believe god[s] exist (besides the lack of evidence there of).
Each passing day, religion looses is credibility as new discoveries & answers are found; we draw closer & closer to the truth.
Religion, as it turns, will soon just be a chapter in human history.

Religion is not a public matter; It's private & should remain that way.

Like CD, I too will take my chances by following common sense and my own experiences. Faith in a god is very personal...and should remain as such..and never forced on any individual or "public" arena.

It is great that you find solace in your beliefs and you should continue doing so as long as it doesn't negatively affect or hurt anyone else. We can look at history and see the horrific crimes done in the “name of the lord” and they continue to this day world-wide. Even bad guys can go to church and believe in a god if they choose so that silly argument about removing god doesn’t wash. Even if you could “remove” such a powerful entity from one place, it certainly could appear in another. Where was your god during that day in Newtown, on those many occasions where children were abused in “his house,” or other tragedies and events? Weren’t they covered under your prayer requests? Yes, god will continue providing you and everyone else the same attention he always has. Meanwhile, I’ll take my chances and continue doing things “my way.”
