Letters to editor

No insult was intended by my letter

By From page A11 | July 11, 2014

As far as Maureen Lechwar’s letter to the editor (“Letter about criminals in the military is offensive,” July 6) is concerned, let’s just agree to disagree.

My letter never implied that we should “replace” our military with nothing but convicts. I too, am an honorable veteran as well, and as a veteran, and speaking with many veterans, I can safely say that there are other veterans who have thought of the same concept. There is absolutely nothing honorable about war. War is hell. Period.

No insult was intended toward our soldiers. Not then and not now. It is simply an idea and nothing more. So please excuse me for having an opinion, Maureen.
