I've known 3 different Stephen's and all of them hated guns and voted Democratic..maybe we should have a 10 day waiting period before a parent can name their child Stephen?

Your comments about the NRA being twisted was a waste of space in our local paper. It is easy to bash an idea but at least the NRA was offering up a solution to the horrible situation. The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.
If you look at the man that ambushed the Firemen in New York, he also killed his own Grandmother with a hammer, are we supposed to ban hammers in the USA and what about the two girls in Fairfield that have been accused of robbing people with a kitchen knife, are we going to ban kitchen knifes because of mentally disturbed individuals? Much of the blame lies within the current system. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. It is always knee jerk reaction without looking at the big picture. Have a Problem, Have a Solution! Wake up!!

The alcohlism analogy is apples and oranges. It somehow implies that having a gun onsite in the hands of a trained good guy, would somehow end up being used agains the kids? As for his last sentence, isn't that pretty much how a flu vaccine works.

So to protect the children we should ban police officers from school property because they are armed?
Its legal for certain people to be armed at schools so why not utilize them to protect the ones that can't protect themselves?

I admit that the head of the NRA has a poor bedside manner when addressing the media but the media has a sick way of twisting anything related to guns and making them evil while diverting attention from the real problems with society.

Blame the person committing crimes rather than the tools they use.

Nobody is advocating banning screwdrivers, hammers, flashlights etc... because of burglars.
