Local bus service needs improvement

By From page A7 | February 06, 2014

Before I state my issues, I would like to thank the Fairfield and Suisun Transit bus drivers for being so courteous and making my trips around town so much more enjoyable.

I don’t have a car and must rely on a sometimes-faulty and very irritating service.

Examples are:

  • Transfers only lasting one hour. I’m on an extremely tight budget and cannot afford to pay twice if my window of opportunity has closed. Business cannot always be conducted in one hour.
  • For the past month, text messages are not being responded to in a timely manner. I sent one at 12:14 p.m. on a recent day and did not get a response until 5:45 p.m. This does not help when you are relying on the bus service.
  • Lack of Sunday service. I would like to attend a church across town and cannot do so. I also cannot shop or visit on Sundays. A limited service would be fine.
