Letters to editor

Legislature critic is selective

By From page A8 | April 21, 2014

Concerning “State Senate looks like Felons ‘R’ Us,” (Letters to the editor, April 9): Yeah Chuck, that’s right. You got ’em! I expect more from my politicians. These particular acts were irresponsible and they should be punished.

May I ask where the writer was when we were discussing the GOP plans to pass legislation on legal discrimination in Arizona? Has he spoken out against their war on voting and minority rights? Has he spoken out against the GOP war on women? How about their attempts to strip citizens of their rights in Arizona, Alaska, Tennessee, Louisiana, Ohio, New York, Kansas, Georgia, Iowa, Virginia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, South Dakota and, of course, Texas and Ohio?

He didn’t know about that? Right. I’ll take my $40 million and a pool.

Chris Brooks

What a ridiculous letter---California is in deep financial, political, economic and social trouble with business, industry, jobs and 2 parent families leaving. So what does this Brooks guy harp about? ''Discrimination against anything that isn't white, male, straight and a job / business creator''. This is EXACTLY how the California Rat Political Party keeps their dumbed down plantation slaves on welfare / unionized do nothing government employee voter block in line. But soon, time and events will overtake their deluded shallow non-thinking ways! That next shooting killing, that next layoff, that rising cost of gas and groceries, that rental home used to deal drugs, that Politician running guns as he decries the 2nd amendment for the citizens---These are all the events and facts Brooks denies as the rest of the Nation booes and snickers at California and it's self written reputation! SHAME!

Rich, your descent into babbling, drooling oblivion is nearer every day. This is another example of yours and those thinking as you do denial of people's rights. You of all people should have more respect. The difference between you and them? You brought your house down around you, they are innocent victims.

Brooks, again, I'm the aggreived party in all of this, not you. I was violently attacked by the Suisun cops at a public meeting on neighborhood crime in front of TV cameras on a false charge without probable cause or warrant. That's now a FACT. That's not good! If anybody has been discriminated against and had rights denied and violated, it's clearly me, and your failed State and Local Government are the perpetrators! The facts are clear and Res ipsa loquitor! Screaming ''racist'' at me doesn't fly anymore because I was acquitted and that is huge!

The writer of the original letter is free to choose the topic that moved him to write. Why criticize him for not writing on subjects that did not interest him?

Steve, I was criticizing the writer and anyone else taking on a few politicians for poor judgment yet ignoring a much larger issue that affects the entire country. Like I said, everybody has turned their backs and the worst part? Most of you have no idea about the subject matter. This is tragic on so many levels.
