Gun-control debate prompts worries
I thought Tony Naramore’s opinion letter Jan. 13 (“History lesson on gun control motivation”) was spot on.
In discussions with family and friends concerning the worst nightmare being gun confiscation, a dear brother-in-law, who is retired from law enforcement, said no one needs an AR-15. He went on to say that Japan wouldn’t consider invading the U.S during World War II because American civilians all had guns, our homeland security.
Now let’s revisit Tony’s history lesson. Lovable Adolf did not invade Germany, Stalin did not invade Russia, nor did Mao invade China or Pol Pot Cambodia. These lovable charismatic leaders all took power from within. Wow, how weird is that, they’re all lefties.
Cleverly, our left has turned the Second Amendment into a debate. There is no debating a nondebatable right called the Bill of Rights. This is a deeper issue. Arguments used for gun control are “common sense,” “in a modern democracy,” and then tout our kids’ safety. Know that today, 3,287 died from an abortion, as they do every day – 1.2 million annually in our modern democracy.
President Barack Obama outlined his second-term agenda with focus on immigration and gun control.
Silly, I thought it was jobs and the budget and “two faces have I” has yet to cut any spending. Studies link pot to schizophrenia, our president – not a casual user in his youth – spoke Nov. 2, 2008, in Colorado, the pot capital of shiny happy people with big grins that consistently headline our nation in mass shootings. He promised on that day the creation and establishment of a “civilian national security force.” Furthermore it would be “just as powerful, just as strong, and just as well-funded as the U.S. military.”
This is not hypocrisy, it’s schizophrenic; bipolar to say the very least. On one hand, Obama wants a civilian army and on the other hand that’s not us. You find that a little weird? May the force be with you.
