Good news: U.S. Senate has a pajama party

By From page A11 | March 26, 2014

In a Gallup Poll taken March 6-9, the responders listed the issues for which they were most worried. At the top of this list was the economy with an 88 percent response and following the economy were:

  • Federal spending and deficit.
  • Unemployment.
  • Crime and violence.
  • Terrorism.
  • Drug use.
  • Climate change.

My hat is off to Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, for his party to host an all night “talkathon” to discuss the issue at the very bottom, “Climate Change.” At a time when Russia is flexing its muscles in Crimea, why not have a media event to show how out of the loop the Democrat Party is? Any student of history knows that the weather has been changing for the past 3 billion years. Were it not for climate change, human evolution would not have been possible.

When the public states that they are frustrated by the do-nothing Congress, it should be apparent that Sen. Harry Reid is a great part of this problem. Also when the Democrats say that the Republicans do not have any ideas, they fail to acknowledge the 150-plus bills that have been submitted for their approval and that have been labeled as dead-on-arrival by Senator Reid.

This is another issue that should be asked of Rep. John Garamendi: “How do you feel about one mean little man being able to block that many bills that arrive for Senate approval and/or disapproval?” Who is really willing to work with whom?

The US Senate is having a pajama party? Best to keep your prepubescent sons at home.
