Elks Christmas charity program a success

By From page A8 | December 31, 2012

For the 16th consecutive year the Vacaville Elks, through our Bob’s Kids program, reached out to help the less fortunate in our communities during the Christmas holidays.

This year the Elks provided department store gift cards for 119 children and food store certificates for more than 25 families in the Vacaville-Dixon-Fairfield area. These gifts were made possible through donations by Elks members and their families and friends. This year we were able to significantly expand our number of donations thanks to a communities investment grant from the Elks National Foundation and a continuing donation from Fenton’s Creamery, resulting from a portion of the proceeds of a special ice cream sundae sale during the month of November.

We appreciate the contributions of all our donors who gave to this worthwhile cause and it is our intention to continue helping those in need within our communities.

Robert C. Meador
Elks Bob’s Kids program chairman
