I woke up this morning with the cat lying on my belly with her eyes wide open looking at me. Just another day in paradise when you are retired.
I saw an article in the paper the other day that read, “I am still black and love rock music,” or something similar, by our longtime Fairfieldian Tony Wade. I have never met Tony, but love his opinions.
It’s funny to me Tony has never “wrote in black” about his opinions. Any blind person reading braille would know that. Now that Tony has let the cat out of the bag, I am proud to say, “I am white and can’t stand rap music.” Being a good ole boy from Bakersfield, I can tolerate some, “new” country.
My roots will always be with the 1960s and 1970s “classic rock gods,” Zep, Stones, Bruce, ZZ, Jimi, Who, Queen, Beatles, even a little U2 now and then. Then if you wanna see God, Iron Butterfly! That Iron Maiden or Metallica stuff was for hard-core losers who lost their way in life, with the one exception, Tony.
Well, that’s one man’s opinion. Show good cheer toward your fellow man and give money to the needy. Call someone from long ago to wish them happiness. Most of all, enjoy life as if you had a 15-pound cat on your belly.
