Clift has my vote

Upon seeing the letter of support for Gerald Clift in the paper, my first thought was – good, someone is speaking out for this highly qualified candidate. Then when I saw the letter writer was his father, I thought, well, of course, he’s prejudiced. But, so am I, and I don’t know Gerald Clift at all.

When reading the bios and visions of the four candidates in the 4th District, and seeing Gerald Clift’s ideas for improvement of the function of the Board of Supervisors, I, too, was prejudiced, and decided then and there that he has my vote.

His thoughts about reducing salaries of management and administrators – and especially supervisors – in order to keep the “little people” on staff at the county was right on. I feel with Gerald Clift’s educational credentials, he has the legal know-how to help manage the workings of Solano County with sound thinking, not just political rhetoric.

Yes, Gary Clift, your son has my vote June 3.
