Can I get fries with that?

Concerning the article, “Fast-food strikes aim at 100 cities” (Dec. 3).

I guess we’re beyond the “just glad I have a job” days? I am on record as one against such high minimum wage rates. Now you’re hinting at doubling it?

Ridiculous. I support boycotting every single establishment that endorses and/or follows through on this strike for one full month after the day it takes place. Meanwhile, I’ll cook at home, see ya.

CD, was that an invitation for dinner? I really like home cookin'. Can I bring a pie?

The Mister, sorry it wasn't an invite but I appreciate the pie idea! I did just finish baking and decorating the Christmas cakes (13) that I make for my neighbors every year. This is my 20th year of doing so. I never heard whether or not the "strike" took place or how effective it was?

Wenceslas was son of Vratislaus I, Duke of Bohemia from the Přemyslid dynasty. His father was raised in a Christian milieu through his own father, Borivoj I of Bohemia, who was purportedly converted by Saints Cyril and Methodius. His mother Drahomíra was the daughter of a pagan tribal chief of Havolans and was baptized at the time of her marriage............ In 921, when Wenceslas was thirteen, his father died and he was brought up by his grandmother, Saint Ludmila, who raised him as a Christian. A dispute between the fervently Christian regent and her daughter-in-law drove Ludmila to seek sanctuary at Tetín Castle near Beroun. Drahomíra, who was trying to garner support from the nobility, was furious about losing influence on her son and arranged to have Ludmila strangled at Tetín on September 15, 921. Wenceslas is usually described as exceptionally pious and humble, and a very educated and intelligent young man for his time................. According to some legends, having regained control of her son, Drahomíra set out to convert him to the old pagan religion. According to other legends, she was a Christian herself; however, very little is known about her rule.

Morning CD. I have to disagree with you on this one, Maybe not double, but they do deserve way more IMO. They work hard for that money. And I wouldn't mind paying the mere buck or two for my McRib. Sure they could educate themselves to get a better job, but heck the economy had been so bad that you have College grads going for such jobs. Plus it takes a lot to training to say, "Would you like fries with that." :-). Never PO of PPL that make your food >>LOL
