Wilma Rosmary

Oct. 4, 1920 – July 8, 2014

Wilma Romary passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Placerville, Calif., at the age of 93.

Wilma was born in October 1920 in a small farming town in Oregon and her adventures began after she married her husband, Warren Romary, who was in the Air Force.

Wilma and Warren traveled to many parts of the world due to his military service and settled in Fairfield, Calif., in 1958. She lived in the same house for 55 years before moving to a retirement village in Cameron Park, Calif., in 2013.

Wilma lived a very active life for a person who used to ride a horse to school and then switched to driving a Model T Ford when she lived on an Oregon farm. Wilma was a school teacher, accomplished piano player, church choir singer, leader of several civic organizations, including the Rebeccas Lodge, VFW Auxiliary, president of the Wednesday Club, Fairfield Garden Club, NorthBay Hospital Guild, an avid traveler, and a loving mother and friend. She made lifelong friends through all of these organizations.

She is survived by her two sons, Martin and Dennis Romary; sister, Belva; nephew, Alan Froese; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Warren Romary.

Wilma Romary will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.

A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Funeral Home, 1750 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield, Calif. Interment will be at Suisun Fairfield Cemetery, 1707 Union Ave., Fairfield, after the funeral service.
