March 12, 1926 — March 8, 2014

Travis “Wayne” Grant, 87, of Fairfield, Calif., passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014.

Wayne was born in Deport, Texas, on March 12, 1926. He married Rose Bonifacio on May 26, 1946, and they spent 53 wonderful years together. Wayne worked 42 years as the manager of Sheldon Gas Co. He served in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard unit during World War II. For many years he was a member of the Suisun Fire Protection District, Solano County Sheriff Reserve and the Solano County Sheriff Posse. He was also a member of the Suisun Valley Lions Club and SIRS.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Louis Frank of Pittsburgh Pa.;  son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen Grant of Fairfield, Calif.;  grandchildren, Angela (Frank) and Jeffrey Bine and Anthony Frank of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jason, and Jamie, (Angel) Grant and Mark Grant, of Fairfield, Calif.; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; his parents; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 14 with Rosary beginning at 5 p.m. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield, Calif., 94533. Interment will follow at the Fairmont Memorial Park, 1901 Union Ave, Fairfield, Calif., 94533.

    Suzy, Gary..I'm sorry to read about your father in today's paper. I liked him very much and always saw him as a great father figure. I didn't see him often but when I did he always had a smile and easy-going way about him. Hope you are all doing well and God's love see you past this grief. Dave McKenzie
