Sylvia “Syd” McPerry, 82, passed away quietly on Jan. 3, 2013.
Sylvia was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Ottawa, Canada, to Francis V. Heakes and Eulalie E. (Watson) Heakes. She attended the University of British Columbia until 1950, when she married Robert E. Lloyd and moved to California. Sylvia raised her family in southern California, where she worked as an escrow officer for more than 30 years. She was remarried to Mark McPerry in 1976. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, the arts, playing piano, crocheting, swimming and more. In more recent years she loved being able to lead water exercise classes at the YMCA in Suisun City, making many wonderful friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mark McPerry; sisters, Francis Aselstyne and Dorothy McQueen; and brother, David Heakes. She is survived by her daughters, Maggie Kuzma and Sandra Minnaar; son, Bob Lloyd; stepson, Mark McPerry; stepdaughter, MaryAnn McClintoch; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all for her loving, caring, and giving nature.
A celebration of her life will take place during a service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield.
