A Mass of Christian burial for Sylvia Frances Sacca, 94, of Vacaville, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 350 Stinson Ave., Vacaville. Father Humberto Gomez will officiate. A viewing will begin 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at St. Mary’s with rosary at 7 p.m.

She will be laid to rest with her late husband, Joseph; and daughter, Louise, at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery, 522 Elmira Road, Vacaville.

Sylvia passed away on the evening of Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in Vacaville. She was born in Detroit, Mich., on Dec. 21, 1918, to Philip and Catherine Tocco.

Sylvia was a beloved mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. She was passionate about gardening and was a phenomenal cook. She was a strong contributor to NorthBay Hospice and actively involved in the Wine and Food Jubilee annual fundraising event. An original benefactor to the Notre Dame School, she and her family were instrumental in the building of the school.

Sylvia is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dominic and Renee Sacca, Joseph Jr. and Carol Sacca and Tony and Jere Sacca; daughter, Cathy Sacca; all of Vacaville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Barbara Tocco of Detroit, Louis and Sandy Tocco of Florida; sister-in-law, Eleanor Sacca of Michigan; 14 grandchildren, Tina, John, Lisa, Joe, Joe III, Chris, Lori, Mike, Lindsey, Tracy, Mary, Katie, Courtney and Tony Jr.; 28 great- grandchildren; she is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
