Sharon Featherson

April 25, 1940 — March 25, 2014

Sharon Eileen Featherston passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2014. She was 73.

Sharon was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on April 25, 1940. She lived in Chicago and Arizona, where she met her husband “Mack” Featherston, whom she married on June 20, 1957. After having five boys by the age of 23, Sharon and her husband worked hard to raise their family. Over the years, she worked at various jobs, including Kentucky Fried Chicken and later at Walmart, where she was named employee of the month on numerous occasions. A devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be forever remembered for making the best fudge and pumpkin bread.

Survivors include her five sons and their spouses, Michael of Baton Rouge, La., Timothy and Renee of Fairfield, Robert and Gail of Fairfield, Christopher and Michael of Washington, D.C., and Edward of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother, Patrick Jones and his wife Ellen Williams of Yuba City, Calif.; and her sister, Darlene Emerson of Chicago, Ill.

She was predeceased by her husband, Murlin “Mack” Featherston in 2011.

A celebration of her life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 5, 2014, at the Fairfield Community Center, 1000 Kentucky St., Fairfield, Calif.

Burial services will be held at Live Oak Cemetery at a later date.

    My deepest condolences to all my family. The best Aunt and Uncle a nephew could ask for...thanks for the greatest memories. "best fudge and pumpkin bread"....that's an understatement...she could put Betty Crocker to shame. Lots of love to you all. Duane Emerson
