Rosemarie L. Olson entered into rest March 6, 2013. Born Aug. 12, 1930, in Moline, Ill., to Elmer and Lucile Olson.
She graduated from Moline H.S. and then from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Augustana College. Rosemarie joined the Air Force in 1960 as a nurse.
Her assignments included those at Travis AFB; Blytheville, Ark.; Texas; Japan; Turkey and the Philippines. She graduated the Air War College program and was a flight nurse during the Vietnam era. Rosemarie retired from the Air Force in 1980 and began working as a nurse at CMF prison hospital in 1985 and retired in 1998.
She is survived by her sister, Ruthann; nephews, Jonathan and Tim; and nieces, Lisa Krause, Julie Balliet, Jill Carlson and Jennifer Olson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother David.
A memorial service will be noon Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Grace Episcopal Church, 1405 Kentucky St., Fairfield. A committal service will follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
