May 5, 1928 — Jan. 7, 2014

Roland A. Couture longtime resident of Fairfield, Calif., passed away on Jan. 7, 2014, in Reno, Nev. He was 85.

Roland was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring at Travis Air Force Base in 1966.

He was preceded in death by wives, Ruby Guess and Helen Gifford, who owned the Dairy Queen in Fairfield. He is survived by five sisters; children, Rachelle (Jim), Andy (Mary), Simone, Richard (Cathy), Mark (Renee), Stephen (Lorrie) and Danny (Donna); grandchildren, Andre, Cheryl, Tim, Jessica, Cathy and Marissa; and four great-grandsons.

Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Fairfield Funeral Home, 1750 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield, Calif. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1050 N. Texas Street, Fairfield, Calif.

Roland loved the children. In lieu of flowers,  please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Hospital.

    Sad to hear this. Wish I had known he was in Reno. May God have Mercy on his dear soul.
