Reginald C. Stockbridge, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, following a brief illness. He was born May 24, 1925 in Detroit, Mich. Reggie was a World War II veteran and our family’s hero. He retired in 1966 as a chief warrant officer with 24 years of service. California has been home since 1974.

He spent 15 years as a security guard for APS and was posted at Exxon refinery in Benicia. He volunteered for David Grant hospital on Travis AFB and Meals on Wheels of Solano County.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, woodworking and playing cards and games with family and friends.

Merrill Gardens in Vacaville became his residence following the death of his wife of 63 years, Ruth M. Stockbridge, in 2010. He continued to enjoy sharing activities with friends, visits from family and an occasional trip to a casino.

Reggie is survived by his seven children; three brothers; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and their families.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.
