Feb. 25, 1966 – Jan. 31, 2014

Our hearts are broken with the passing of our dear husband and father. Perry Kevin Parrish passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.

Perry was born to Melvin and Geneva Parrish in Orange, Texas, on Feb. 25, 1966. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. During that time he was a fire controller on the USS Ramsey and the USS Arkansas, and was also stationed in Houston as a recruiter. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he was hired at the Exxon Refinery in Benicia, which is now Valero Energy Corp. Perry loved his work at Valero, especially the time he spent with the Fire Department.

Perry will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit and his devotion to family, friends and country. He loved the newest and the best technology, figuring out how things work and how to make them work better. Perry would help anyone he could, whether family, friends or strangers. He is loved and will be deeply missed.

Perry is survived by his wife of 20 years, Laurie; daughters Katie and Emma; brothers James Parrish (Sonya) of Nederland, Texas, Keith Pickard of Highlands, Texas, Greg Pickard (Nancy) of Orange, Texas, Bruce Pickard (Leva) of Ashland, Ky., and Royce Parrish (Arlene) of Pineland, Texas; mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Earl Olson of Fairfield; sister and brother-in-law Nancy and John Ford of Suisun City; niece Alison Ford and nephew Andrew Ford of Suisun City; and the numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in Texas.

Perry was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother Paul.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Perry’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Feb. 15, 2014, at the New Life Church, 5900 Cherry Glen Road, Vacaville. A memorial service in Texas will take place at a later date. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Parrish Memorial Fund at Solano First Credit Union.

The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support.

Arrangements are under the care of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 707-425-4697, www.bryanbraker.com.
