Mary Spingola Stagnaro passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
Born in Verbicarro, Italy, to the late Frank and Maria Spingola, the family immigrated to San Francisco in 1937. Mary was later employed by Levi Strauss and traveled to the eastern United States to help start up their plants in Tennessee and Washington, D.C.
She was the loving wife of the late Louis Stagnaro; devoted sister of Grace Mazzaferri and Phil (Barbara) Spingola; cherished aunt to Mary (Bob) Fosse, Pam Spingola, Steve (Tanya) Spingola and Terese Spingola, great-nephew, Dominic Spingola and special friend, Doris Spingola.
She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Joseph Mazzaferri.
Mary dedicated her life to her family, community, philanthropy and faith.
Mary’s family wants to thank Verna Sulunga, Veloni Sulunga, Vee Sakaza, Toa Fakava and Linda Hansen for their loving care to Mary throughout her illness. The family would also like to acknowledge Sister Dorothea and the recently deceased Sister Liz for their weekly visits to Mary.
Family and friends may visit from 5 to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield, Calif. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1050 N. Texas St., Fairfield, Calif. 94533.
