Mary R. (McConaughy) Steiner, 56, of Fairfield, Calif., formerly of Enon Valley, Pa., passed away on Dec. 24, 2013, at her home following a brief and brave battle with brain cancer.
Born on Sept. 9, 1957, in Rochester, Pa., daughter of Walter and Doris (Rape) McConaughy.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Keith; children, Jennifer (Dean) Litzinger (married to Brian Litzinger), Johnstown, Pa., Dr. David J. Dean (married to the former Melissa McClure), Grove City, Pa., Jeromy Dean (married to the former April Conti), Beaver Falls, Pa., and Monica (Steiner) Lo (married to Shuen Lo), Austin and Amanda of Suisun City, Calif., and Holly, of Vacaville, Calif; 20 grandchildren; loving mother, Doris; siblings, Glenn, Melvin, Donna Fath, Donald, Sally Nemcek, Darlene Hilliard and Timothy, all of Beaver County, Pa.; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Her father and an infant nephew preceded her in death.
Mary was a 1998 graduate of Carlow College and a 2003 graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law. She was employed for more than 20 years as a registered nurse with the Medical Center, Beaver, Pa., in its nursery and maternity departments and worked in California at NorthBay Medical Center, Queen of the Valley Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente.
The public viewing will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, with a service to follow at 1 p.m. at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield, Calif. 94533.
