April 19, 1952 — Jan. 24, 2014

Mark Aaron Perdue was born April 19, 1952, and was called home by the Lord on Jan. 24, 2014, after a brief illness.

Mark was married 28 years to his loving wife, Dena, and through good times and bad, they walked through life hand in hand.

A proud Army veteran and fighter of injustice, Mark was active in veteran activities and Native American causes. Mark fought his way into and through this life, and touched many lives with his big heart. His heart also impressed President Kennedy, who was touched by a letter from Mark and responded. Mark also touched his brothers and others – with his left hook. He was able to laugh at anything and everything, including himself. Mark is from the Fremont and Niles area, where he made many friends before moving to the Fairfield area to make more. If he was your friend, you had someone special; and if you crossed him, he would still give you a second chance. Mark enjoyed classic cars, Harleys, doo-wop music, oldies, Motown, rock and roll, fishing and collecting just about anything.

Mark loved Chevy cars and trucks, but his last car was a Ford, and he would probably say it was killing him.

Mark is survived by his wife, Dena; brothers, Jon, and Greg; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, in-laws, veteran brothers and sisters, and friends. Mark is preceded in death by his father, Glenn; mother, Dolores; and brother, Chris.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help his loving wife Dena. For info contact Jon Perdue at 510-468-6848 or [email protected]

A memorial and celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Church of God, 930 Empire St., Fairfield Ca. 94533, (707) 425-0150.

Mark will be buried at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014,  at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon Calif., 95620, (707) 693-2460.

Arrangements under the care of Fairfield Funeral Home 1750 Pennsylvania Ave. Fairfield, Calif., 94533, (707) 425-1041.
