Marilyn McIntosh

Aug. 5, 1935 — April 27, 2014

Our beloved Marilyn passed away peacefully with her loving husband, Duncan, and family by her side.

We will always remember Marilyn as a devout Christian and a kind and loving woman who brought her talents to so many. After graduating from Solano Community College in Vallejo, Marilyn was unsure just where her education was going to take her. Her love for the arts and music was her passion, along with her yen for Christianity.

Outside of being a devoted wife and mother of four, Marilyn’s talent did not stop with motherhood and raising her children. Among all her talents, she was gifted with a beautiful voice and entertained many social groups in Vallejo and also took part in many musicals. Her favorite show was “Show Boat.”

Marilyn was an exquisite and talented marine artist as well. Many of her paintings were shown at the art shows in and around Fairfield. She was an excellent marine painter. Ships were her calling. Marilyn’s love for life and her devotion to others did not stop there. Marilyn went on to become an exceptional nurse. After finishing her education in nursing, she interned at the Intercommunity Medical Group of Fairfield and stayed on as an employee where she met and married her best friend, Duncan McIntosh.

From there they toured the world, with memories written in poetry by her adoring husband. Many friends and family shared their life in poetry at many wonderful dinner parties and family gatherings. Marilyn never gave up on her strong feelings as a Christian. She shared her calling and started Bible classes in her home to share the word of the Lord to many from all faiths.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristine Madsen and her husband Allen of Sacramento; son, Kent Leslie of Sacramento; sister, Carol Chadbourne and her husband Stephen of Fairfield; stepchildren, Lori Gartley and husband Robert of Fairfield, Douglas McIntosh and wife Dawn of Long Beach and Bruce McIntosh and wife Nurmi of Japan; as well as many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas and Ruth Beasley of Vallejo and Fairfield; and sons, Keith Leslie and Kory Leslie.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship, 4177 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield.

Arraignments under the care of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield, Calif., www.bryanbraker.com.
