Margaret Rose Davieau, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Heritage House in Fairfield.
She was born on her parent’s farm just outside Swanville, Minn., on May 20, 1928, to Robert and Julia Schneider. Married in 1949 to Felix K. Davieau, they moved to Fairfield in 1951 with two of their children and later had three more children here in Fairfield.
Margaret loved sewing, gardening and cooking. She worked for the school district first as a bus driver and when the school district unified, she went to work as a cook at Anna Kyle Elementary School in Fairfield. She was also an active members in the Cordelia Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, Simmons Sheldon Women’s Auxiliary and Nisei Club in her younger years.
Margaret is survived by her five children, Doris and Ben DeRosier, Dennis and Barbara Davieau, Debbie and Bob Whitman, Daren Davieau, all of Fairfield, Diane and Russ Johnston of Pahrump, Nev.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix K. Davieau; her first grandchild, Sean DeRosier; her twin brother, Lawrence; her brother, Martin; and her sisters, Clara, Victoria and Veronica.
Margaret will be buried with her husband in Rockville Cemetery. The graveside service will be private.
A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E. Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Fisher House, Travis AFB, or the Wounded Soldiers Relief Fund.
