Lola Young, age 91, passed away peacefully at home with her son, Tony, by her side on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013.
She was married to Orval Young in 1941, until his passing in 1997. She worked for the telephone company, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Smoke House restaurant. In retirement, she worked as a crossing guard, playground supervisor, teacher’s aide in FSUSD District, Solano Community College Bookstore worker and Walmart greeter.
She is survived by son, Tony (Vicki) Young, daughter-in-law Kim Young; sister, Ruth Nickel; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Orval; son, DeForrest; grandson, Collin; and five siblings.
She was dedicated to and loved her family, God, and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is beloved by her family and those who knew her. She will be missed and remembered by them.
The funeral will be held at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at the LDS Church on 2700 Camrose Ave., Fairfield. A viewing will precede the funeral from 11 to 11:45 a.m.
