Jan. 19, 1933 — June 23, 2014

Joseph Newton Pires was born Jan. 19, 1933, to Charles and Madeline Pires in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He served in the Korean War and was a tower crane and heavy equipment operator in Hawaii and worked at Pearl Harbor and retired from Mare Island.

Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph Pires Jr.(Tammy) of Hawaii and Anthony Pires (Denise) of Suisun City; daughter, Kandy Pires-Burt of Suisun City; and several grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Ruth Maola Pires

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m., July 13, 2014, at the Moose Lodge, 623 Taylor St. Fairfield, Calif.

Those who would like to attend are welcome.

At Joseph’s request, his ashes will be spread in Hawaii.
