John Lewis Dunn was born March 18, 1933, in Belen, Miss., the son of John Lewis Dunn Sr. and Katie (Flowers) Dunn.
John retired from the U.S. Air Force as a senior master sergeant and was a security guard for 16 years. He loved to bowl and build many things from wood. He was a good mechanic and electrician. John belonged to the Tri-City Elk Lodge in Fairfield.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Dunn; daughter, Audry Montgomery of Vacaville; sons, Johnny Dunn of Sacramento, Melvin Dunn of Fairfield and Karl Dunn of Fairfield; sisters, Leslie Charles of Los Angeles and Whorsly Vass of Fresno; brothers; Freaman Dunn of Compton and Luster Dunn of Arvin; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Dunn; and aunts, Beatheal Beasles and Rhonda Dunn.
Friends are invited to attend the visitation from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield. A funeral service will take place at noon Oct. 18, 2013, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, followed by a committal service with full military honors at 2 p.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
