The life of Jerrold Anthony Beaulieu will be honored at noon, March 15, 2014, at Holy Spirit Church in Fairfield, Calif.
Jerrold was born Dec. 17, 1947, in Columbus Ohio, the second son of Harold Joseph Beaulieu Sr. and Katharine Belle Gray He was born on the same date as Beethoven, a fact of which he was quite proud.
Jerrold was a member of the first graduating class of Holy Spirit School in Fairfield and a graduate of Armijo High School. He attended Solano Community College and the University of New Mexico, where he studied journalism and political science.
Jerrold was a Vietnam-era veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a writer at the Daily Republic newspaper in Fairfield for many years, where he wrote sports, news and his own column aptly named “My Side.”
He enjoyed traveling, fine dining, volunteering for charity fundraisers, good books, movies, music, great desserts and a proper cocktail.
His mother and father, lifelong partner Ed Narcisso, nephew Maurice Junis Byrd and half-brother Hueitte Michael Gray preceded Jerrold in death.
Jerrold is survived by his sister, Barbara Avery and brother-in-law, Robert Avery; brothers, Harold Beaulieu and Phillip Beaulieu; sister, Jeanne Beaulieu Byrd and brother-in-law, Melvin Byrd; sister, Yvonne Bullock and brother-in-law Edward Bullock; nieces, Stephanie and Lindsey; nephews, Kevin, Bryan, Matthew and Andrew; great-niece, Ashley; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family is grateful for the prayers, calls, and sentiments sent on Jerrold’s behalf.
