James Ward

Dec. 23, 1944 — Jan. 18, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of James B. Ward announces his passing after a long illness with cancer on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at the age of 69 years.

James was a native of McGehee, Ark. After high school graduation, he proudly served 26 years of distinguished active duty service in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of master sergeant. He then went on to work for the state of California and retired after 19 years. After retirement, James was able to pursue his love of cruising the world and playing golf, becoming an avid golfer. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, serving in the men’s ministry.

James will be lovingly remembered by Diane, his wife of 30 years; two daughters; two stepdaughters; and nine grandchildren.

A visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E. Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 30, 2014, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Vacaville. Interment will follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, Calif. 95620.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of James to Shiloh Baptist Church, 185 Chandler St., Vacaville, Calif. 95688.
