Helen Gutierrez, 58, a Fairfield resident for 26 years, passed away Jan. 18, 2014, at Stanford University Medical Center after a long illness.

Helen worked for Solono County Dept. of Health & Social Services for 16 years. She enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her cat Fluffy.

She is survived by her son, Ramiro Gutierrez Jr.; daughter, Angie Garcia; grandchildren, Ceccilia, Vivvian, Yescenia and Adrianna Garcia, as well as Eddie and Angelica Gutierrez;  great-grandchildren, Aneli and Angelo Anguino; her 3 brothers, Joe Medina and his wife Luz, John Medina, Rene Gutierrez and his wife Corina; her lifelong best friend, Rita Wilson and partner Francisco Tolento who stayed with her through all the difficulties.

Friends are invited to a visitation from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Jan. 24, 2014, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas Street Fairfield, Calif., 94533. Burial will be in the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.
